When You Begin to Remember Yourself
There comes a moment when you begin to feel that you have been living far away from yourself.
Not physically, but somewhere within.
You have been chasing expectations, carrying old fears, trying to become the person the world wanted you to be. Somewhere along the way, you may have forgotten to ask who you truly wanted to become.
Then, quietly, something begins to change.
A moment of silence feels different. An old habit no longer brings the same comfort. The things that once demanded all your attention begin to lose their power over you.
And you start asking questions you had buried beneath the noise.
What truly matters to me?
Why do I keep repeating the same patterns?
What part of myself have I been neglecting?
Perhaps this is not about becoming someone entirely new. Perhaps it is about seeing yourself without the layers of fear, expectation, and identity you have accumulated over time.
You begin to recognize that you are not every thought that passes through your mind. You are not every mistake you have made. You are not the approval you seek or the image you struggle to protect.
You are still learning. Still changing. Still discovering what it means to live with awareness.
And perhaps, beneath all that you have been taught to become, there is a deeper question waiting for you—a question about your consciousness, your spiritual nature, and your relationship with the One Divine.
Purism invites you to explore that question with humility, not by pretending to possess every answer, but by becoming more attentive to the life unfolding within you.
Maybe remembering yourself begins when you stop searching for your worth in everything outside you and start listening to what your inner life is asking you to understand.
You may not be losing the person you were. You may simply be discovering that you were always capable of becoming more.
Reflection Questions
When was the last time you felt truly connected with yourself?
Which expectations have led you away from the person you want to become?
What part of your inner life deserves your attention today?
Practice
Find five quiet minutes today.
Put aside the roles you play, the things you need to achieve, and the opinions you worry about.
Ask yourself: If I stopped trying to prove who I am, what would I finally allow myself to understand?
Do not force an answer. Give yourself the space to listen.
Closing Thought
Sometimes, awakening does not feel like discovering something new.
It feels like returning to something you had forgotten was important.
A quieter truth. A deeper awareness. A more honest relationship with yourself and the Divine.
Perhaps the journey is not only about finding your way forward. Perhaps it is also about remembering what you lost sight of along the way.
